Traditional English Oak wooden flower press handmade to order using solid wood throughout.

Sizes will inevitably vary due to the nature of the wood but approximate size of this item is 20cm x 27cm.

Constructed using 20mm solid English oak for the outer wood panels and 3.6mm hardwood panels for the interior separators.

Listing includes 6 x interior separators panels.

I created this piece personally and use it daily to press a variety of flowers which you can see in my other listings. I was inspired to create this item after working with substandard presses and not liking the results.

You would usually find MDF outer panels and cardboard used to separate flowers within the press but I have found that these are just too flexible and warp when applying adequate pressure to press the flowers to a high enough standard.

All wood is cut by hand to give a rustic handmade finished product, this adds to the character and charm of the item. The oak is waney edge on one side which really brings out the bark as a feature of the flower press. All other wood edges are sanded down to provide a smooth finish.

The wood on this item is bare but can be varnished or finished with beeswax to provide a durable finish; please choose the option you prefer.

This is a heavy item due to the quality of the solid oak wood used, this weight will be sufficient for smaller flowers. Pressure can then be increased using the 6mm steel bolts, washers and wing nuts which are all included. These provide a convenient way of increasing the pressure gradually to avoid damaging any flowers.
