Georg Jensen Company
~Georg Jensen was born in 1866 and grew up outside of Copenhagen, surrounded by nature. He was trained as a sculptor, but made his living designing flatware, hollowware and jewelry. He opened his own silversmithy in 1940. The Georg Jensen company has greatly influenced Danish design throughout the years and is still open today. The company has always been known for its stellar design and quality craftsmanship.

Arno Malinowski
~Arno Malinowski (1899-1976) was a jewelry designer, sculptor, ceramist, engraver and medalist. Throughout his artistic career he won many awards for his work, including a silver medal at the Paris World Exhibition in 1925, The Eckersberg Medal in 1933 and The Carlson Prize in 1936. He worked for the Georg Jensen Company from 1936-1944 and then again in 1949-1965. During these stints he designed both jewelry and hollowware. His designs often depicted stylized animals, including this dolphin brooch. In 1940 Malinowski designed the “Kingmark” to celebrate King Christian X's 70th birthday. It was worn to show loyalty to Denmark and resistance to German occupation.
