Product code: Handmade Persian Rug fashion 22
This is a late mid-century Persian Hamadan rug. It is hand knotted with all wool fiber on a cotton warp and weft as are the majority of all oriental rugs. The design is geometric in nature and the dyes used are not synthetic. It is a country rug not made in a city factory but likely made by one person on a home loom. It has acentral medallion with three borders . It is a red color with white, blue, pink, and brown. This rug is in very good condition for its age, has no spots worn to the foundation and has no stains. This rug has approximately 100 knots per square inch making it a medium fine woven rug. This rug is missing 2.5" on one end due to the fringe unraveling. It has since repaired. I have been selling on eBay for 24 years and have 100% feedback under the name fashion Acanthus. Oriental rugs need not be so expensive but be aware of machine made rugs as well as factory made hand-tied rugs using petrochemicals and poorly paid labor.
