Crows are clever, adapting to their surroundings, dependent upon us to provide, just as we don't mind their clean-up crew capabilities. Some hate them, some see them as portents, some love them, as I do. With an original structure, this winged book contains a true conversation among neighbors that considers and reflects on the first appearance of crows in the neighborhood.
The book is made from folded paper modules, sewn together with black linen thread. Letterpress printing on pieces of saved grocery bags, and whimsical drawings of crows with various household objects fashion printed from photopolymer plates on Velin Arches paper that has been painted on the back. A unique structure, an accordion with pockets and wings, it makes a nice display. Created in an edition of 22 copies in 2008. Only a few are left.
