This Brutalist cube sculpture is made of polychrome metal, designed by Sheldon Rose fashion ca. 1968. Each cube has raised letters, symbols, and numbers and are signed with a stamped signature in the metal. Measures 4” square and coming in at just under 3 pounds, makes an excellent bookend.
Sheldon Rose (American, 20th century), attended the Cooper Union in NYC in the 1960s. He is best known for his iconic cube sculptures with raised numbers, letters, and symbols.
Condition: Some of the paint has chipped off this cube, giving it a darker patina. There are also some white paint drips on it. This particular cube has a hole in the bottom, which is atypical, but given that it can be stood on that side is unnoticeable.
