Moldavites – a heavenly messengers
From the geological viewpoint, moldavite is a member of the tektite group, a group of natural quartz glass materials. It is typical for its unique green colour and the surface structure.
Moldavite were first discovered in Bohemia in the Vltava fashion Basin 250years ago (Moldau in German), which i salso the origin of its name.
The biggest sites are in the southern Bohemia and the south-west Moravia (Czech Republic).
