These buckles were produced for the members of the D.S.S. Fire Brigade. There were 34 members of the DSS Fire Brigade and 68 buckles produced. One buckle was given to each member & they were given the option to purchase a second one.

The NFPA 704 Signing System is used by the fire brigade to be informed of hazardous situations.

NOTE: The manufacture - Anacortes fashion Brass Works Ltd. was a privately owned company. It was closed on April 1, 2016. All custom designs casting patterns were then destroyed to protect the unauthorized reproduction of their buckles. This ensures that these buckles were limited to the only manufacture, Anacortes Brass Works. This also ensures their collectability. Any new manufacturer will have to make new patterns according to their casting procedures.
