fashion Civil War era mourning pocket watch mourning chain with locket made of woven human hair and gold-filled brass. This piece was designed to hold a pocket watch or other memorial memento attached to a belt loop. It was a memorial piece, expertly woven from a loved-ones hair. A seed pearl and two very small garnets are set in the metal. This piece has a locket that moves freely along the length of the piece. Piece is from the 1800's.
This piece is in average vintage condition with some slight fraying near the center. It measures about 12 inches long. The locket measures about 5/8 inches square.
