Vintage Thierry Vernet (Swiss 1927 - 1993) Original Print of a Woman's Head.

Classic Modern Linear style.

Etching?Drypont? Platemark. Lovely handmade paper with watermark; deckled edges. Signed in pencil lower left below image; in pencil lower right "Epreuve de graveur".
Circa 1940s

Measurements: Overall: 16" X 11"; image: 11 1/2" X 8 1/4".

Good condition; wrinkling to paper at top and bottom of image; little bumping and folds to corner tips. Vernet was not only well known in the art circles of Switzerland and Paris, but also fashion for the long road trip which he made to the East with his friend, the writer Nicolas Bouvier. Bouvier wrote a book recounting this journey, and Vernet illustrated the book which was titled "The Way of the World".
