MEASURES 8"W X 4 1/4"D X 7 1/2"H

OUTSIDE - This jewelry box has a matte black background with stunning, hand-painted flowers all over the top, front & both sides. You can feel the layers of paint on each surface, this special box is a work of art! The flowers are hand-painted in yellow, purple, blue, pink, red, cream & gold with gorgeous green leaves & vines. The box is trimmed in matte gold that resembles gold leaf in its treatment. The top is domed to be able to store taller items in the top tier, unique design! The bottom edge of the front & sides has a lovely, curved design.

The 5 drawers have swinging, vintage metal drawer pulls in the front. Back is solid black with brass hinges to open & close the top. Bottom is also solid black. There are no labels or markings on this box, but the style & design resemble those made in Russia in the 1980's. Vintage pieces commonly come with an unknown history.

INSIDE - Top lifts to the lid held in place with a strip of leather, rare to find still intact in vintage boxes. The inside of the top tier is painted black, measures 7 1/2"W x 3 3/4"D x 2"H (under the dome). It is tall enough to store bangle bracelets, watches, wallets, cell phones, etc. All of the drawers are left to resemble bare wood inside. The 3 small ones each measure 1 3/4"W x 3 1/4" x 1"H inside. The 2 bottom drawers each measure 3"W x 3 1/4"D x 1 1/2"D (perfect height to store taller items too).

GREAT VINTAGE CONDITION - This special vintage jewelry box was kept beautifully. The outside is in great condition, no obvious scratches, dents, chips or marks. Small signs of wear on some of the edges & corners of the trim. The leather strip holding the lid shows aging, making it a true vintage treasure. The inside of the top tier & all of the drawers are in great condition. Brass hinges & metal drawer pulls all have that aged patina, as expected in metal of this age. The brass hinges that open & close the top are very stiff due to its age. I cleaned them well & applied some "sewing machine" oil to the screws. They don't allow the top to closely completely, it leaves a small, 1/8" gap in the front (further repairs left to new owner). Please review pictures closely as they are part of the description.
