This cross represents the beginning of the end of evil. Once there was a serpent; an evil one, freely having his way with us. You can see his head there up at the top of the cross. Then God became a man. He came here to suffer like we do. He died on a cross to take the penalty for our sins and to free us from the power of the evil one. And from that moment, his work on the cross began to "unmake" the serpent.
