Product code: 1940s Button Back Wedding Dress with Sheer fashion Neckline & Sleeves, Lace Detailing

Gorgeous vintage wedding dress, featuring buttons down the back, a sheer yoke w/ ruffled lace, and a princess seam bodice. The inside seams are a combination of raw, pinked (pinking shears used to prevent fraying, as opposed to a serger), or finished on a fabric edge. It looks like the sheer overlay on the bodice was hand stitched. The styling and details suggest this dates to the 1940s.

No tags, so refer to measurements below for fit. Measurements taken flat; double for circumference where applicable.

Measurements:
Bust (armpit to armpit): 16 inches
Waist (across): 11 1/4 inches
Sleeves (shoulder seam to lace cuff): 20 inches
Lace Cuff: 3 1/2 inches
Front Length (from center front): 57 inches
Back Length, including train (from center back under collar): 82 inches

Condition Notes:
The train is torn in a few spots, and there's a stain as well. Some of the buttons have rusted through, and the fabric on many of them is fraying or torn. The left sleeve has a section of seam that's come unsewn. The armpits show very mild discoloration (too light to show up in photos on the dress form, but visible in the right armpit especially when held up to the light.

The dress form has a 33 inch bust, 26.5 inch waist, 32.5 inch drop waist, and 36 inch hips. She stands 57 inches tall at the shoulders (at max height). The dress was a tad small for my dress form, and I was unable to button it all the way.

Will my item be clean and ready to wear?
Items that can be washed are cleaned prior to being photographed according to care instructions (unless otherwise specified), but may pick up odors from being stored despite efforts to prevent this (think having to rewash some seasonal items when you fashion take them out again, despite having washed them before storing them). I store many of my items with cedar blocks to help with freshness and deter moths, especially for those comprised of wool. Please note that wool (especially if it isn't heavily processed) tends to retain the smell of lanolin, a wax secreted by wool-bearing animals that serves as a protective barrier to the wool. Some people find lanolin to be rather malodorous, so keep this in mind before purchasing wool items. Please review FAQs if you have any additional questions.
