Marie Curie (1867 - 1934) was a physicist and chemist. She is most famous for her work in radioactivity. She was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize and she is one of a few people who have won the Prize twice (in Physics and Chemistry)! Element number 96 is named curium in honor of her work in the field of radioactivity. To this day a curie (Ci) is a unit of radioactivity.
