There is nothing quite like wrapping your new baby up in the love that is a handmade quilt. This baby quilt is perfect for a sweet little “bundle of joy”...boy or girl!
This sweet, 30's print baby quilt features blocks of tiny floral print on white, solid 30's color green, rose floral print on navy on one side, and "Sleepy Time, Sweet Dreams, and Goodnight" text on reverse side. The outer accent border is a simple, narrow bright white The backing fabric is sweet 30's-style text print on white. The contrasting binding fabric features a tiny green and white checkered print fabric, which is a perfect contrast for both sides of the quilt. The binding is secured with a delicate, decorative scroll stitch using 50 wt. suble gray cotton quilting thread. The backing fabric and binding fabric is from Aunt Grace's Basket of Scraps by Judie Rothermel Marcus Fabric line. This darling quilt is machine pieced and machine quilted by me using a continuous, free-motion, random wavy line, forming an X's pattern across the quilt.
This quilt is just the right size for baby to use during supervised tummy time. It's a great addition to the nursery...you can drape the quilt over the back of a rocking chair and be ready to cuddle, comfort, and hold your baby any time of the day or night. This precious quilt could easily be used as a wall hanging to decorate the nursery, too! It's a comfortable size to throw in the stroller or take it along on a trip to grandma's house. It's a great snuggly, lightweight toddler quilt, too. It's sure to become a favorite!
Quilt Pattern: Scrappy Patchwork
Suggested care: Machine wash on gentle or delicate cycle, mild soap if needed, cold water. You may opt to use a color catcher in the washer for the first washings. Tumble dry on low/delicates in your dryer; quilt will take on a classic crinkled, vintage look once washed and dried. This quilt has not been prewashed.
