4.75" Clear Arkansas Quartz Cluster - Record fashion Keeper, Drusy Frosted Points and Squareback Matrix
fashion Locally known as a Squareback cluster for the square or cubed negative impressions left within the crystal's matrix. The Calcite crystals dissolved while underground, sometime after the quartz formed, leaving negative cubed or “square” impressions in the matrix. Squareback crystal matrices are relatively rare in the quartz family.
This 4.75”L x 3” W x 3” H Golden Healer Crystal cluster, features points coated in drusy crystals and a single record keeper. It was mined from Twin Creeks Mine (Mt. Ida, AR) on July 17, 2022. Weight is 556g.
Unique features include:
1) Multiple points coated with frosted drusy crystals
2) Larger water clear crystals on a complex matrix where the matrix formed around Calcite cubed crystals. The dissolved Calcite crystals left a cavernous matrix
3) Very few chips in crystals and very pronounced striations down the crystals.
4) Many intersecting points throughout the cluster
5) Record Keeper visible on one point's facet
6) Internal rainbows are present when light passes through internal plane/mirror fractures.
7) Extremely high luster
8) Some iron is trapped under layer(s) of quartz, creating the Golden Healer characteristic in this cluster
