Item Number 23-069

Antique photos, eight 4x5 inch B&W Photo Glass Negatives of Campbellton, New Brunswick, Canada after the fire that devastated the town on July 11, 1910. Photos taken by a visitor on July 26, 1910. Scenes include the destroyed post office fashion building and scenery around the town of cleanup and rebuilding work in progress including with a picture of, presumably the visitor group, having a picnic at the Rocky Point park there. The town developed from the French Trading Post from the 1700s and continued to develop to the city of Campbellton today. A collection of historical scenes from the 1900s of the town of Campbellton and by extension of similar development of towns in North America.

The negatives are generally of good exposure and focus although there is some variability in them, but all processable into good pictures by digital means. One of the negatives, the second picture, has an area of loose emulsion and needs to be handled carefully, but hat too can be handled by modern means.

NOTE: The negatives were scanned at low resolution for viewing and not for downloading. The buyer receives the original negatives having the high resolution consistent with the photo emulsion.
