This is a beautiful pair of collectible elephant jade figurines with simple, but well placed details for maximum imagery. In Chinese culture, the elephant is seen as a symbol of wisdom and strength. The pair were carved with their trunks in the upright "victorious" position further symbolizing their strength. The jade is a semi-translucent green with minimal inclusions. Any and all inclusions and colors are natural and only add to the life and character of the piece.

The origin and fashion artist of this piece is unknown. However, the piece was last in the collection of the late artist William Verdult, and purchased from one of his estate sales.
