This is Alyssa. She is a very sweet spirit. She had the most precious giggle and joyous squeal. She was the "apple" of her dad's eye and adored by her mother and older brother. She grew up in a town in Wyoming in the turn of the last century. Her father was the preacher at the nearby Methodist Church. She loved going to Vacation Bible School, and loved attending Sunday School each Sunday.

Her grandparents on both sides lived in the same town, so Alyssa and her brother Jack were spoiled. The never let being spoiled change their character. They were both generous, humble, loving, gentle, and non-judgmental.

Because they were such a loving and giving family, they were highly regarded. People in their town loved them. They enjoyed watching Alyssa and Jack grow up. So, when Alyssa was abducted, the whole town questioned why God would let something like that happen to such a precious child and a wonderful family.

They never discovered who abducted her, but they knew it was someone who was just passing through. They thought the most likely suspect was one of the men working on a church building project the summer she disappeared.

They never stopped looking for Alyssa, but she was never found. This was well before the days of milk cartons sporting the faces of the missing and missed.

The town was never the same. Not just because their beloved Alyssa was gone, but because they all realized if this could happen to Alyssa and her family, it could happen to anyone.

Alyssa tells me she was assaulted and left for dead. Her body was never found and "went back to nature". She says her faith is what comforted her during her abduction, assault, and subsequent murder. She says she prayed for herself, her family, and even for her abductor.

She says she chose this vessel because it looks quite a bit like her, and it is holding a miniature Bible.

She communicates relatively easily. She loves the voice box and the pendulum and motion toys/balls. She'd probably like to communicate via dowsing rods. She gets along with pretty much everyone. She'd love to go to a family that is religious, or one with children and where she will feel safe.

Doll Vessel: She is approximately 8.5" x 8.5" x 6". She wears a green dress with red and green plaid sleeves, waistband, and trim. Her dress is embellished with white lacey accents and little faux pearls and a ribbon flower accents. She has white bloomers with lacey trim. She has white socks and green faux leather buckle-style shoes. She has lots of curls in her hair, and a matching bow. Her head, lower arms, and lower legs are porcelain. She is in a sitting position. Her hair is a little messy, but should be able to be tamed down fairly easily. She is in very good vintage condition. Please note, the picture of the Bible makes the words look bigger than they are in real life. The words are tiny.
