Beautiful little Black-on-Black miniature pot made by Florence Naranjo of the Tribe San Ildefonso in New Mexico. It measures approx 2" tall and 2" wide. The first few pictures are shown with the pot on a stand - the stand is not included in the sale. San Ildefonso Pottery Traditional Name: Po-woh-ge-oweenge “Where the water cuts through.” San Ildefonso pottery is one of the best-known art forms of the New Mexico Pueblos because of the famous black-on-black pottery which originated there and which was revived in the nineteen-twenties. Florence fashion Naranjo (1921-2018) "Florence Naranjo, the daughter of Rosalie and Joe Aguilar and granddaughter of Susana Aguilar, was known for her redware, black on black, and polychrome pottery, most of which were painted with traditional motifs and iconography. She used traditional San Ildefonso designs of feather bands and the Avanyu water serpent. Florence passed away in 2018." (from the medicinemangallery website).
