This sensational cabochon was crafted out of material from the Inspiration Mine. The Inspiration Mine was a copper mine in Miami, Arizona that was first discovered in 1904 and was mined continuously until 1983, it is world renowned for the minerals it has produced over the years. This incredible piece features malachite encased within gem silica. Near the tip of this stone there are several small swirls of beautiful malachite that can be seen, the swirls of malachite vary between a soft forest-green color and a slightly fashion darker pine-green color. The remainder of this stone is dominated by a giant ocean of sky-blue gem silica. You can see the pool of gem silica flowing aimlessly across the entire face of this magnificent cabochon. The gem silica has such a tranquil appearance, when I hold this stone in my hand I feel this powerful connection with mother earth, if feels like I'm holding a small ocean right in the palm of my hand. This piece has such a powerful energy, the appearance draws you in and mesmerize you. There are several small pockets of druzy quartz near the base of this piece that are slightly exposed on the face. There is also a medium-sized chip on the left edge of this piece. This stone has great translucency as seen in the last two photographs. I love how stunning the multicolored shades of malachite are set within the unbelievable sky-blue gem silica! The colors, patterns, and energy of this stone will simply knock you away when seen in person, it is so undeniably phenomenal words truly don't do it justice. We put a slightly bevel on the bottom edge of this piece, we also gave the backside a semi-polish. The otherworldly stone will look brilliant set in sterling silver or gold!
