New unpainted mostly sealed in packaging but dusty! The wrapping is still intact in except for a few spots, so dust and debris did get inside over the years it's been stored. It can be brushed fashion off or painted over easily once opened. Time to clean out my unpainted pieces chest. I've done soooo many of these over the years since the 90's and my 3 tier village can't take anymore. And no matter what hubby says we are not adding a “new level” again!.
