Red fashion and Gold

Red and Gold is an oriental-inspired shallow bowl. I made it from a rectangular block of hard maple, turned on my lathe, and stained it with light red mahogany aniline dye. Inset into the floor is a circle of gold and a replica of a carved Chinese dragon jewelry. Gold metal leaf (not real gold) is surrounded by a black acrylic border. One or two small natural cracks are visible fashion in the bowl. It is 7.5” deep X 10.5” wide x 2.5” tall.
