Hand Turned Eucalyptus fashion Bowl

fashion This squared off bowl was made from a block of eucalyptus wood. You never know for sure what is hiding inside the block of wood when you start working with it. In this case we had a tremendous variety of colors and shapes within the grain both inside and out.

The bowl was finished by first applying boiled linseed oil. This was followed up with a shellac based friction polish. This is generally considered a food safe finishing technique.

The bowl measures seven (7) inches in diameter and is more than three inches tall.
