MCM California Original Pottery Plate by Ann fashion Cochran Modernist Artist 1940s 50s

This is a mid-century modern pottery plate, hand painted and signed by listed California modernist artist Ann Cochran. The design is based on a bird of some sort, perhaps a rooster. The plate is marked on its underside with “California Original”. The plate measures 9” in diameter and weighs 1 lb and 2 oz. It is in very good condition - fashion looks like any perceived fading would be original to the making of the plate. Nice piece of displayable art by a listed California artist, great in a retro modern California decor!
