Common Name: Joey Palm, Diamond Joey Palm, Diamond Joey
Description: A true collectors palm. Johannesteijsmannia Altifrons or Joey Palm is a trunkless palm with large, undivided fronds that emerge right from the ground. The striking diamond-shaped fronds are pleated along their length, and have serrated edges.
Care: This palm loves high humidity and warmth. It is very sensitive to the cold and should be protected if temperatures drop below freezing. Place in shade to part shade and protect from strong winds. It enjoys moderate watering, but is easy to overwater, it requires soil with very good drainage.
