A Victorian black glass belt made with faceted black glass embellishments each individually sewn on two sides to a narrow, heavy woven cotton ribbon. The belt closes with a large single snap at the end of the ribbon. The belt has 30 pieces of faceted black glass, each 1 1/4" in diameter, and it is 35" long when snapped closed. Of course the length of the belt can be shortened with the removal of some of the black glass pieces, and it fashion could be lengthened with the addition of a couple more complementary ones, or simply by adding more ribbon at the front. The glass pieces are in fabulous condition with only minor scratches. The glass pieces have 2 sew holes on each side of the base. The embellishment all seem well attached but this is a Victorian belt so the thread is old. They are all individually sewn onto the ribbon, so reattachment is a snap if a thread does break. A unique and beautiful Victorian black glass belt. This buckle is antique and has been used so may have signs of wear and/or patina from age. $65.
