Handmade in Australia using only the highest quality materials, these gold Swarovski earrings with sunrise motif would make *you* the perfect embellishment for any sort of birthday party, gala event, photo shoot, cocktail party, formal event, on the red carpet or as part of a flapper costume for a 1920s party, Art Deco party or Gatsby Wedding party!
Inspired by the semiotic decadence of the Art Deco style which originated in France in the 1910s and dominated the decorative arts in Western Europe and the United States until the mid 1930s, these starburst earrings contain very old and extremely collectible original vintage and antique Czech glass elements - to the point where most designer's would only use one or two of these in any given piece because of their cost, quality and rarity.
Starting at the top of each earring is a super high quality 24K gold plated lever back finding made in Israel. Placed on top is an original vintage Swarovski diamond shaped embellishment with brass backing, with super *sparkly* original vintage Swarovski diamante crystals. The first row tracing the outer edge are large clear crystals, followed by two rows of black claw set crystals and a large black crystal in a crown setting in the middle. And last but not least, dangling at the bottom, is an absolutely gorgeous geometric Art deco style stamping with ridges that resembles the rays of the sun.
These earrings has been finished with a super pristine matte gold patina to emulate the look of ‘Russian gold'. Interestingly, manufacturers in the 1930s used tin solder; a material which contains nickel that some people are allergic to. Inspired by the creations of 1930s jewellery designer Miriam Haskell, ay other metal components have also been protected with a special varnish. Originally with about 90 years worth of natural patina, we have undergone to great lengths to ensure the very aesthetically pleasing antique looking finish. This fashion makes them more hypoallergenic, which also means they won't stain your skin or clothes!
