The box: Walnut body with maple splines for strength and beauty. The box is finished an and eco-friendly zero-VOC oil/wax blend and feels smooth and natural to the touch. I went with concealed barrel hinges on this box as to not detract from the grain and simplicity.

The top: Bookmatched curly maple finished with 2 coats of satin lacquer to highlight the depth of the grain.
