Butterick 4133; late 1940s; Misses' Hostess Gown: Scalloped Midriff. Graceful flowing hostess gown features a deep V neck, long length deep armhole sleeves (A); short full sleeves in parachute silhouette (B). Scalloped inset midriff creates waistline flattery. Contrast bodice, sleeves and front panel, view A.

According to a 1947 Butterick booklet, inspired by the clothes worn by Ingrid Bergman in Arch of Triumph (movie released in 1948) (ref.). Other gowns from this picture were Butterick 4127 and 4115.
