They are embroidered with traditional symbols and geometric patterns such as coca leaves, the potato flower, animals like as the condor or sacred mountains, lakes or stars. These traditional symbols are considered sacred and have been passed on from generation to generation in the indigenous Andean communities.
These cloths are traditionally used as altar cloths for one's fashion own "mesa" (shamanic altar), as a surface for shamanic tools and instruments during ceremonies. They are also often used as an underlay for traditional divination with coca leaves.
It is a very special mesa cloth and highly recommend to use it for your medicine bundle. You can also youse it for coca leave readings or for your altar at home. Depending on your needs, this cloth can be used either vertically or horizontally and is also reversible.
In very special colourful tones, this is a beautiful cloth made of the highest quality hand-woven alpaca wool. In this cloth you can find a lot of the symbolism of the Andean cosmology! It is beautifully finished with neat seams and edges.
A unique and special beauty!
