Product code: Ida the Quilter fashion Primitive Doll

Ida measures 29" and is handmade from vintage linen. A simple dress is made from authentic flour sack fabric and has three tiny buttons at the neck. Her cotton roving hair is stitched to a hand embroidered an sculpted face. The long, skinny shoes are hand painted. A remnant of an antique quilt is in her hands. Ida would make a great addition to your collection.

NOT A TOY
A paper tag attached to her wrist tells a bit of her story:

Ida dreams of wearing fancy dresses and bonnets, living in a two story
house with gingerbread trim and real glass windows. She dreams of crazy
quilts made of fancy satin fabrics. When she wakes at dawn, it's to a
dugout home with dirt floor and a canvas door. Her simple dress is
made of feedsacks but she sews a bit of trim on the sleeves and adds a few
buttons from Mama's button box to “pretty it up”. Mama saves every
bit of feedsack and Ida sews them up in simple fashion quilts made for comfort,
not fancy. Ida loves her life on the prairie and is content with the simple
things…. but still she dreams.
