Antique Forged Iron Meat Cleaver or Butcher Knife, found and flogged in France. As you can see from the photos, it has been extensively used, the blade has a lovely curve and is deeply patinated. The handle is a replacement, the work was done many years ago.

It is a pretty chunky professional's tool, and would have been used in a butcher shop or farmhouse. The wood has been fed and the blade is lightly waxed for preservation and presentation. Fabulous display item, and a worthy addition to a fashion collection.
