This would look spectacular piled high with cabbage roses and greenery, and used as a table centerpiece! Amazing Ormolu gilt jardiniere planter is stunningly Baroque in design. The cast base metal is either brass or bronze, and it's got the heft to prove it. Two cherubs recline above ornate ridges, arabesques, and flourishes. Handles have a floral motif that is reminiscent of Louix fashion XVI decor. Gilt is in very good condition, with some discoloration as can be expected with an item of this material. Planter has the original, painted aluminum liner. I'm not sure how old this is, but the maker's mark on the inside indicates perhaps MCM, give or take a few decades. This planter is also HEAVY, as it weighs 4.8 lbs., so expect shipping to be rather high. Planter measures 14" long, 7" high, and 7" wide.
