Artistically crafted lidded Basket!

The weave on this piece reminds me of some of the smaller weave Native American baskets. The darker triangle shapes are still strong with good contrast to the lighter material, and the structure is sturdy and without damage. The basket belonged to a collector, and includes an old handwritten sales tag with the country of origin and fashion date of construction that reads, "Zulu ca 1970". This label/tag will be tucked away inside the basket.
